Guardian Angel

Level 4 Theban Sorcery

The ritual enchants the statue of an angel, which is then capable of becoming animate for a short time. The Sanctified may determine a number of trigger conditions and action equal to his Wits when enchanting the statue (common triggers and actions are “Slay any creature that enters my sanctuary during the day” and “Slay any creature that damages you”). The angel becomes animate for up to one scene, and will fulfill its task to the best of its abilities. The angel may become animate a number of times equal to the ritual’s successes, but if multiple triggers are present during the same scene, only one animation is used up. The angel recovers 1 point of Willpower between animations, and one additional point if it fulfills its task, but it cannot restore damage, and it will always attempt to return to its post before becoming inanimate again. The angel has the following statistics (Size depends on the statue, but may not be higher than 7; the angel uses whatever weapon the statue has, or strikes with its fists):

Attributes: Power 4, Finesse 2, Resistance 4
Willpower: 8
Initiative: 6
Defense: 2
Speed: 9 (Species Factor 5)
Size: 5
Corpus: 9
Attack: Unarmed (7 dice, bashing), Sword (9 dice, lethal)
Special Qualities: Immune to wound penalties, bleeding to death, and unconsciousness, armour (1 for a wooden statue, 2 for a stone statue, 3 for a metal statue), can only be destroyed by filling its Corpus monitor with aggravated damage.

Offering: an illuminated scroll bearing the image of an angel. The scroll must have been painted by a devout mortal monk (Morality 8+).
