Blaine is probably the oldest of the Hounds in the city, and is certainly the oldest Malkovian in the city. Like other Malkovians in Amsterdam, he's out and in the open about his blood, taking no small measure of pride in it. His work outfit is certainly an expression of application; how many people do you know that wear chainmail and gasmasks to work afterall? Still, despite his eccentricities, everyone knows that he's one tough son of a bitch, and most people would rather not be on the Hound's bad side; he's known to be rather unpredictable afterall. Born in london 1875, he served as the muscle for a loose crime syndicate from a young age, and his not inconsiderable talent at the job would eventually attract the attention of an unusual Ventrue doctor, by the name of James Hartleigh. Ofcourse, that's how Blaine views the story, if one were to ask Hartleigh, he would say he simply picked the first subject with a bulging muscle mass. He was seeking to add muscle to his offspring besides the more literary oriented members he was embracing. Hartleigh would for two decades be the only view on Kindred society that Blaine would have. It wasn't until 1922 that he would have any contact with other Kindred, when the doctor finally released him, and he made his way back to London. Where he briefly served as a hound between 1940 and 1956 In 1956 however, he was involved in some sort of scandal, which ultimately led to his exile from London the next year, when he would make his way across the channel to the continent. Making his way first to Rotterdam, he etched out a meager existence there until 1961, when he moved to Amsterdam for unknown reasons. In 1966 he became a recognized hound of the domain, a position he has retained ever since. Ever since he has gained a reputation for being a colorful character of the domain, although his approach to his job might be considered a bit over the top sometimes. |
