In-Character Websites

On Shadows over Amsterdam, we allow (and encourage!) players to make and host their own external in-character websites for things like organizations, clubs, blogs, and the like. This means that characters who have access to computers (and know how to arrive at these particular sites) can see the information on these sites, and potentially use it. We feel this is a great opportunity to add another layer of realism an interaction into the game. Note that we as storytellers will on occasion also use IC-websites to spread ic information, dropping hints that your characters might wish to investigate.

As you might notice, each entry here has an IC-URL and RL-URL listed. This simply means that the IC-URL is not a real one. It is completely fictional and is merely there for additional fluff.

• Description: Blog for the Sean Ellington show (which runs several nights a week, late night, all night). Updated as Sean sees fit. Anybody who'se heard the show knows how to get on the website (provided they have access to a computer and know how to use it)

• Website: Conspiracy Watch Amsterdam - Occult Department

• Description: Website run by Jaap Burema, local conspiracy nut and frequent caller to Radio K-Larp. Jaap is an angry little man with a limited knowledge of the occult but a passion for the subject. He's responsible for the occult section of the CWA website, which he uses to rant about various relevant subjects, post pictures, and post his own experiences with the occult and those of others. Anybody who is either a regular listener of K-Larp (particularly Sean's show), or familiar with the internet and does a search for occult conspiracy related stuff, will be able to find this website.

• Description: Official Selektion-K website. Selektion-K is a monthly Horror themed Techno/Industrial event that's located on a new unique location each month. Anyone who'se into the techno/industrial clubscene in amsterdam is likely familiar with the event (and therefore the website, provided they have a computer and appropiate computer skills)

• Description: Secret quick-messaging system for the Carthian Movement. Only carthians who have been given a special decoder, aswell as the actual url itself can access it.

• Description: Quick message system for lower level initiates of the Caros Foundation, publically accessible, however; important messages tend to phrased in codewords. Anyone who googles Caros Foundation can find this.
