Shadows over Amsterdam

Because somehow, we're still here.

Osdorp

Osdorp means; Ox Village, however, historians generally believe it's derived from Oostdorp (east village), as an extension of Haarlem (which lies to the west of Amsterdam). The first mentions of Osdorp date to around the beginning of the 12th century, and was sold to Amsterdam in 1529, but remained independent in it's administration until 1816, when it fell under the municipiality of Sloten, which then in 1921 was annexed by Amsterdam.

It's generally considered a drab and uninteresting area of Amsterdam, with most of it being filled by post war residential construction (such as the archetypical 'commieblocks').

It has a population of around 46.000
