Westpoort

Westpoort is not truly a city burrough in the traditional sense; but rather an industrial area that includes the western industrial port of the city. Only 335 people live here. Around 1500 generally smaller businesses are located here with around 40.000 jobs all in all. Though not even coming close to the massive port of Rotterdam, Amsterdam's port is still the second largest in the country, and amongst the larger ones in Europe, and most of it is located within the Westpoort district.

Also located here is the 'artist colony' of Ruigoord (Rough Realm), a former island that became boxed in by reclaimed land. Numerous cultural events are organized here and every full moon, parties are organized in the old church.
